Electric Noel featured a Holiday Drive-Through Light Experience for residents of the Inland Empire. One of the few that’s outside the clustered area of Los Angeles County; people living east of L.A. can now enjoy a drive-through experience without traveling far. Electric Noel is located at Silverlakes in Corona, which is a sizable outdoor venue that offers a lot of track.
With so many drive-through experiences popping up, how does Electric Noel standout and differ from the rest? Electric Noel is the first to offer a complete neon lit display experience from what we know. Sure, Christmas lights usually shine bright in the dark of the night. However, at Electric Noel, you’ll notice the bulbs and LEDs are much brighter especially when captured in a camera. The experience was definitely true to its name.
Though there were no live actors, you are welcome to roll down your windows to snap photos as there are only thousands of neon lights around you. How did they manage Old St. Nick? Well, virtually of course! You’ll be able to get shots of the big man toward the end. He’s just about the only thing that was non-neon there. What we really liked from this experience is that in most cases, the track was wide enough to fit multiple vehicles. For us, it meant that we were able to pull to the side to get the perfect shot of a display. Sometimes it isn’t easy when neon lights are moving and pulsing quickly. It’s hard enough to take photos of still lights in a moving vehicle! However, there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to pull over to the side on a busy night. At least during our media preview night, we could pull to the side and take as long as we wanted while letting other cars pass. Nonetheless, the wide tracks are seldom seen in other drive-throughs and that can potentially present a safety hazard since there’s no guarantee that every car is maintained and won’t break down and back up the traffic.
We like the fact that it’s a neon light experience which sets it aside from other drive-through experiences. We really like the wide tracks where we can pull to the side if needed for whatever reason. This is one event that we wouldn’t mind seeing coming back as part of the new Holiday tradition starting 2020 and beyond.
