L.A. Zoo Lights returns for the 2021 holiday season with a flash bang! After a forced hiatus last season as with most events; L.A. Zoo Lights leads the charge with the big re-opening of Holiday events in Los Angeles. As one of the first events to launch; it gives Holiday light seekers a head start and the opportunity to get in a festive mood before peak season.
Known as one of the longest running Holiday attractions in Los Angeles, the L.A. Zoo Lights experience is open for your viewing pleasure for just about 2 months! Still one of the southland’s more attractive and affordable attractions; this event is timed-entry to allow for better crowd control. However, you are free to roam around and stay as long as you want to and to take as many photos as you want; and this year there are lots of places for photo-ops. What’s also new this year is the Holiday Village. Located where you would find the Christmas tree; this holiday village has 5 holiday themed “giant” miniature buildings for photos, Santa’s cabin and his sleigh. This is definitely a fun area to grab photos at once you are done admiring the Christmas tree.
Aside from the endless walkways of lights and music; there are other things to do as well. There was live music located next to the carousel, the reptile exhibit was open, plenty of hot cocoa and churro vendors throughout the property, the stores were open, the restaurants were accommodating guests and guests may also enjoy Golden Road’s brews and other various cocktails throughout the experience. The experience can take you between 1-2 hours to finish. We suggest getting there early, grab a map and then enjoy the refreshments while you take your holiday stroll through L.A. Zoo Lights.
The L.A. Zoo Lights winter walk-through experience is highly recommended for date-spot seekers, family-fun activity seekers or for people who want a grand holiday light experience without the hassles or stress of a theme park. Some theme parks may claim to give you a full holiday experience, charge you $25 parking and up to $100 for preferred/VIP parking only but not deliver on the holiday promise. At L.A. Zoo Lights; it doesn’t happen. Parking is completely free, admission is much lower, there are hardly any “dead” or “empty” areas like some parks in California; and if you don’t really care for rides then this event basically gives you a theme park holiday experience with a shorter walk!
