When one thinks of Santa Anita Park, we often think of “Derby Day” and a “Day at the Races”. What about in the evening time? Well for the Holiday season, a section of Santa Anita Park is transformed into the 1st ever Winterfest. This family-friendly event offers something for everyone and has complimentary parking as well.

There are plenty of opportunities to attend Winterfest since it is open Thursday through Sunday throughout the Holiday season. Activities on-site include: Inflatables Play Area, Horse Carriage, Photos with Santa, Pony Park, Holiday Movie Screening, Ice Skating, Vendor Shopping, Food Trucks and Booths, Adult Beverages, and of course the giant Christmas Tree with plenty space for photo-ops. The Winterfest event is just what the San Gabriel Valley needed. We often hear of “Winterfests”, “Holiday Festivals”, “Ice Skating” and “Christmas Festivals” happening but they are not really local. While there are plenty of Winter and Christmas Festivals and Ice Skating events; they are usually in the major popular cities. Which begs the question: what about for the people of the 626? Winterfest @ Santa Anita Park solves that issue for the locals with a holiday attraction at an afffordable price that has a consistent schedule. Admission also includes a free cup of cocoa & cookie with every paid admission. Kids 3 and under are free.

For the locals, Winterfest is a great destination to tack on to your route especially if you're a consistent visitor to the Upper Hastings Ranch Holiday Lights located about 5 minutes away. If you're a Holiday and Christmas fanatic like we are; then we know you will do it!
