The House of Spirits returns for another manifestation and mystery. At a new and much more improved location compared to last year; Casa Vertigo in Los Angeles offers a lot more real estate and simulated more of an “estate/manor” feel than last season’s York Manor. With better ventilation, restrooms everywhere and more space and potential; this venue does add something to the entire experience that we didn’t have last year: a grand gala experience. Oh and parking is limited as well but still much easier than the residential streets of last season.
House Of Spirits Experience
“The Legend of Vaughan Hall” tells a haunting tale of Lady Medb and its after effects of her sins after an improper relationship with a black-horned devil. Should you choose to participate, it is your job to decide whether or not to go on this mini quest of finding out the true story. Why did Lady Medb sacrifice her marriage to a mortal? How does her daughter play a role in this? How does this character seemingly unrelated somehow related in the end? With clever story lines and a specialty-themed cocktail experience to go along with it; this interactive event is sure to keep you busy for 2 hours.
The experience starts right on the dot; so be prepared to be immersed in a world that’s far from the one you are used to once you arrive. Guests that arrive early will be brought to a reception area where you can do your coat check, photo-op and enjoy a cocktail before the actual experience. Note, this cocktail is not included in your ticket unless it’s the actual start time. Characters of Vaughan Hall are then seen everywhere and it is highly encouraged to talk to these “spirits”; while enjoying your own spirits. With activities such as musical/theatric/acrobatic performances, a dark maze, a mini scavenger hunt just to name a few; everything is relevant to the storyline and helps offer more insights and literally the answer to the actual storyline.

In Conclusion, the House of Spirits is an experience that’s unlike any other. If you love these following 3 things then this event is it for you: specialty cocktails, Halloween, dressing up. By having cocktails and spirits that roam around to interact with; that alone was already more than enough reason to go. Therefore, the storyline and mystery to solve and all the other experiences and performances can be viewed as a bonus. One thing we would wish to see is a longer experience. We found it a bit difficult and logistically challenging to do everything in 2 hours; we were having to down all these generous-sized cocktails that were supposedly “tasting size” in order to try to get to everything. In addition, a staff member confirmed with us that there were only 3 bars. It turned out that there were actually 5 by our count, including one inside of a room that we completely missed or couldn’t find; we didn’t bother really looking because we were told that there were no other bars/areas. We missed the “blue room”. So we hope this review helps you better navigate and enhances your experience in the utmost efficient manner! We highly suggest getting there early.
