Doctor zomba's ghost show of terror 2018 - hollywood, ca

Halloweentime is full of Haunts, Pumpkin Festivals, Haunted Tours, and Haunted Theatre. However, not everything extends past the mesonoxian hour. Looking for something to do at Midnight after all is said and done? There's Dr. Zomba's Ghost Show of Terror.

The boutique theatre production brings back the nostalgia of a “midnight ghost show or spook show”, before the internet days. Back to the days when people would see something on stage and believe it for face value. David M Beach plays Dr. Zomba and opens the show with an introduction and some magic. Dr. Zomba's Ghost Show of Terror brings light to that and even makes fun of it comically by featuring tricks like placing a blue and white cloth in a bag and telling the audience that they switched colors when pulled out. Vampirates dinner adventure 2018 - buena park, ca

We've never seen a show where a Pirate is also a Vampire. Hence we sailed down to orange county to brave the stormy seas to see how exactly it looks. In the very end, it did not disappoint. The dinner and show were both fangtastistic. CLICK HERE FOR FULL REVIEW!

WB HORROR MADE HERE: FESTIVAL OF FRIGHTS 2018 - Burbank, ca

Back for it's 2nd Year, WB's Horror Made Here: Festival of Frights is significantly bigger than before! Guests arrive in a triage area with an opportunity for a red carpet photo next to a run-down carnival set. There are plenty of photo opportunities here.

Guests enter the festival though the mouth of a mural of the Joker from the ARKHAM ASYLUM maze. You are greeted by killer clowns as you walk through the street and towards the main courtyard. Prior to reaching the courtyard, to the right of you is FANGTASIA; yes the bar from “True Blood” and may we say it is an ACTUAL Bar that serves True Blood! On the left is the Little Shop of Horrors, the Lost Boys Arcade, The Crave Inn Cafe, and a make up FX class. (CLICK HERE FOR A FULL REVIEW of the Main Attractions)

queen mary dark harbor 2018 - long beach, ca

This year, the Queen Mary offered 6 mazes instead of 7. The mazes are a little different than the previous year. Therefore, it is worth going again as you will likely notice a different story from the returning mazes. So by no means, are the mazes "watered" down; except maybe for DEADRISE (pun intended). The Ice Cave in the front next to INTREPID is a nice touch since guests can enjoy a cool down prior or after attending the mazes. The mazes on the ship are generally a lot warmer than the ones on the ground.

horrorworld 2018 - city of industry, ca

Welcome to HorrorWorld in City of Industry, CA. This is a first year multi-haunt powered by some returning favorites INTO THE BLACK, THE FLESHYARD, along with the band new PSYCHO SANITARIUM whom all have decided to come together to give you three times the scare! Each major walkthrough is located in different units in the mall alongside each other. Enter the mall, proceed to the courtyard and take the elevator up. Horrorworld can be seen easily on one of the 4 corners. PSYCHO SANITARIUM is located in the first unit which also houses a bunch of mixed retail vendors and a VR Haunt titled "VKult: The first VR cult". THE FLESHYARD can be found in the unit to the right and at the very end is INTO THE BLACK. One thing we've noticed is that it literally goes from MILD to SCARY when you approach it in that order as we mentioned. Get the multi-haunt pass...if you dare!

knott's scary farm 2018 - buena park, ca

Knott's Scary Farm 2018 Delivers as Promised. Coming straight from the Preview/Announcement night a couple of weeks prior while harboring this excitement and willful containment, we all had high hopes for Knott's Scary Farm. It did not disappoint at all. Each of the returning mazes seemed more refined this year and simplified but in a good way. Paranormal Inc., has a new ending that put the entire storyline together. The Depths, which is new for this year, utilized great looking sets filled with monsters in the sea and an abandoned ship. Beware where you are stepping! Dark Entities, is a space adventure gone wrong as you rush to quarantine then it gets bad where the staff has to contain whatever got loose. With Dark Entities, the visitor gets immersed into a storyline where you'll have to race against time to avoid the dangerous lifeform that is running around. The Forsaken Lake scare zone makes use of an area that is rarely used. Though the scare actors are hard to see, that makes it even more scary when all of a sudden you realize it's not a regular civilian walking along side you. However, it needed to be darker and have more fog to really simulate a lake or swamp setting. We recommend going in for the Pre Scare Boo-Fet so you can have early access; the 2 new mazes are right by the buffet's location this year!

Haunted 66 Exhibit @ The L.A. County Fair 2018

We stumbled upon a great Halloween Exhibit over the weekend at the L.A. County Fair. Hiding in the back and lurking in the shadows was the "Haunted 66; Halloween Super Show". Guests enter and can find everything from horror make-up FX, scary props, haunted related vendors, and multiple photo-ops. Perhaps the most stunning exhibit of all were the Frankenstein's monster and Halloween/Michael Myers exhibits. Both had life sized figures of how they looked and changed throughout the years. Thus giving the Halloween fanatic even more photo-op areas. We'll let the photos do the story telling. The fair opens until September 23rd, 2018.

Knott's scary farm preview/announcement night 2018

We were able to sit in for this season's haunt announcement's of what's to come. Returning mazes this year are; Dark Ride, Paranormal Inc, Pumpkin Eater, Red Barn, Shadowlands, Special Ops: Infected, and Trick or Treat: Lights Out. Returning scare zones are Ghost Town Streets, Carnevil, and The Hollow. Also returning is the family-friendly Halloween Hootenanny in the Log Ride. What's New? The Bird Cage Theatre will house: “Conjure,”, and of course "The Hanging" will always have a fresh current events theme. "Forsaken Lake" is a new scare zone with a funeral theme centered around the dead not wanting to stay below grown. "The Depths" and "Dark Entities" are the exciting new mazes for this year. The former is centered around a port village influenced by H.P. Lovecraft's monsters and the latter is a alien themed space adventure. So in total it's: 9 Mazes, 4 Scare Zones, 3 Shows, 1 VR Experience (Time Zombies) and on top of all this, all rides will be open in the dark! See you in the fog starting Sept. 20th!

SCARE LA 2018

Reaper at the entrance.

Hauntlet's 1st time at #scareLA did not disappoint. There were more than enough vendors for Halloween and Horror Fanatics. There were plenty of workshops, educational sessions, and haunt previews for the coming season. Most of all, there were enough attractions and haunts to satisfy two handfuls. Scare L.A. is definitely recommended for the haunt-goer and Halloween fanatic to get one more teaser before the busy Haunt season starts!

Universal halloween horror nights 2017

A multi-haunt theme park attraction that needs no introduction. Universal does it once again by immersing the audience into their favorite shows or horror program. Arguably the closest thing for the general public to be on a horror movie set; HHN sure has many surprises and scares utilizing both visual and audio stimulation. John Murdy, one of the brass behind HHN is bringing back the Universal Classic Monsters but in a modernized form this year for 2018. We are all very excited to get a grip of this modernized nostalgia.

the "it" experience - hollywood, ca

The infamous Neibolt house comes to Hollywood. This was a ticketed entry and tickets were sold out way in advance. Guests had a chance to experience an interactive walkthrough inside the Neibolt house lead by none other than Georgie! The interacive walkthrough gives you some of the what's to come in the upcoming film. Best watch where you step or you may end up in the drains with Pennywise in the end. Will there be another "IT" experience for the sequel, we'll have to wait and see.

Castle dark - riverside, ca

Riverside's most prominent multi-haunt offers family fun fare paired with both daytime and nightime activities. New in 2017 was the introduction of their VR haunted maze. Attendees can see if they have what it takes to escape this altered reality and return to the world of the living. On top of the VR attraction, guests can enjoy the other mazes and daytime attractions which are also open. Castle Dark may be described as a mini-Knott's Scary Farm. They return in the dark this year:
